Maybe you wonder about who i am and what i am doing on Althemy. I'm a photographer who likes the strange, obscure and alternative world. This interest sprung from youth, reading all i could find in the childrens and adult horror / science fiction department of the library. Later on i explored the local metal/goth scene wearing the obligatory black hair, dark make-up and belts with way too many studs on them.
This also inspired me as an artist, so creativity has always been a part of me. I got this talent from my grandfather; who was a gifted painter/photographer and graphist. No wonder i started following art school at the age of nine as an extra curricular activity. When starting junior high, i have been submerged in photography, first of course analogue black-and-white with my trusty Canon. Later on, digital with my very first, still just a compact, Fuji film camera.
Focusing on digital also moved my interest from darkroom to software (Photoshop). Where i explored and tested all kinds of techniques. I flunked Informatics in college, because i was so busy working my photography and photoshop skills. This was about the same time i started doing make-up, assisting and retouching for various other photographers.
It took me some time to really start doing mis-en-scene photography works though; it started as being silly with friends, playing real live barbie-doll, i would dress and make-up them and then take model-like photos.
Finally this pushed me to go and study this craft more deeply, so i got myself a professional bachelor in photography.
As to today i really want to explore my creative side so much more. So welcome to my brand new blog about this not-so-new direction i am taking with my photography.

I think i could never leave darkroom for good. Had so much funtime in it.
How come you dont have any mis-en-scene gallery of photos?
That part must be sick in so many ways right? ;)
